This is no ordinary Vin de Pays d'Oc.... the combination of the outstanding 2005 vintage and the fact that it is made by a Grand Cru Burgundy producer, mean that this is unbeatable value.
This excellent red is the creation of Patrice Olivier, a 'vigneron independant', perhaps best known for his Grand Cru Burgundies, but whose family roots are in the Languedoc. The skilled Burgundian touch is evident in this firm, concentrated Syrah Merlot, made from concentrated fruit and aged in large wooden barrels. This full-bodied wine offers soft red fruits and hints of cedar, with a silky rounded palate and ripe tannins. 13% vol.

Pomino is a unique environmental and production site in Tuscany and best represents the Frescobaldi’s innovative spirit. The Pomino mountain area features cool, dry, windy weather, with noticeable temperature changes between day and night and from season to season, with short vegetative cycles. The Pomino DOC is one of the smallest in Italy and the only one in Tuscany to make prominent use of international varieties. Thanks to slightly acidic soils and the dry, cool weather of these more northerly areas, these vineyards yield highly aromatic wines of striking finesse and distinctiveness.
A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco, this is a rich and floral wine with tantalising aromas of figs and clean ripe fruit, particularly pear and apple.
